Another Utah Band Breakthrough!

I've known this Provo band since they were a different lineup sans Elaine, their kick-ass, buff-armed drummer. I've worked with Elane on the Truth About Tobacco Utah chapter before she joined the punk-pop synth band. They played at an X96 Big Ass Show, but their greatest achievement was playing at Eisenhower Jr. High in 2008 in front of hundreds of screaming pre-teens, which I hosted, with The Truth sponsoring. Now, I want to let you know of a few small things that they are doing. For one, they got picked up by a little-known label called Mercury last year. Two, they will perform on a tiny show tomorrow (3/23) at midnight on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Then starting in April, they are so desperate that they have subjected themselves to open for 30 Seconds To Mars. Yes, that tour will hit Utah May 8 at The Rail.

EEEEEEEEEEE! I can't be too proud, and I just hope this Provo act doesn't forget us little people. In fact I have evidence that in all of their interviews so far that they state first that they are from Utah County, and proud to be in this great, state of ours. I know who came up with that anyway?

Neon Trees, congrats and since The Used, we have another Utah superstar band! Yay!!

Geez, who's lazy?

I can write five times a day on my other blog about getting sober and healthy, but leave this guy in the dust. I had an emotional burnout and started to slack in doing the projects I loved. Sorry!

On St. Patty's Day a great band played at The City Library for the monthly concert series Music At Main, a free show every third Wednesday of each month. It was Glade Sowards from SLC and his fabulous Americana band. www.myspace.com/gladesowards

Next month at the main library, April 21, two bands will perform: Asher In The Rye and The Blackbirds. Then in May, Daniel Day Trio will be the featured artist. Each show is 7-8 pm. on the fourth floor. http://www.facebook.com/slcpl
